Bio

My love for Spanish began during my years at Auburn University. I took Spanish 101 as an elective during my third year at Auburn, and absolutely fell in love with the Spanish language. I continued my studies of this language while at Auburn and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Family and Child Development, and a minor in Spanish.

I taught Spanish in Shelby County for one year before having children. I then had the privilege of being a stay-at-home-mom for several years. When it was time to re-enter the work force, I worked part-time at local private schools for a few years. Then, I began working full-time teaching Spanish at Stanhope Elmore High School. After twelve years of working with teenagers, I took a major life change and became the Spanish teacher at Redland Elementary School. It is such a wonderful joy to see learning of the Spanish language take place in the hearts and minds of the younger children.
